Executive Board 2016 - 2017
Hi everyone! My name is Megan Gillis and I am ESA's President this year! I'm currently a senior majoring in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Marketing and Business Economics & Public Policy. I am so excited to serve as President this year and work with our E-board to make everyone's experience in ESA the best that it can be! I hope to work with you all to foster a stronger sisterhood, grow our fundraising efforts for St. Jude, increase our contributions to the DC community through service, and do my best to respond to the feedback of the chapter. Please feel free to reach out to me at email@example.com with any feedback, questions, or if would like to discuss the symbolism behind the Battle of Hogwarts of 1998.
Hi ladies! My name is Julia Weiss and I'm ESA's VP of Finance. In my spare time, I'm a junior majoring in English and minoring in Business Administration. In my even sparer time, I work as a resident advisor in Thurston Hall and as a writing consultant in the University Writing Center. I hate fun facts and I hate it when people ask me what my spirit animal is, but my fun fact is that I've broken all ten of my toes (on ten separate occasions) and my spirit animal is Nora Ephron and Leslie Knope's hypothetical lovechild. Come see me for anything ESA, if you need a paper edited, or if you want to talk Parks & Rec.
Hey there! My name is Sarah Weinbrom, and I'm a senior studying Biology and Public Health. I served on ESA's Executive Board in the Spring 2016 semester as Community Service Chair, and had such a blast I decided to stick around! I will be a Co-Vice President for the 2016-2017 school year, and I can't wait to see what our chapter is going to accomplish. As Vice President, my job is to work with the President and my Co-VP to provide support and guidance to the rest of E-Board, and the chapter as a whole. I'm always on the look out for new ideas to make ESA better, and to make sure every sister feels included, respected, and engaged!
Hi everyone! My name is Rebecca, and I’m excited to be serving as Secretary for this year! I am currently a sophomore studying Geography and Interior Architecture & Design, and am originally from just outside Philadelphia. As secretary, I work with the rest of E-Board to keep our chapter organized and make sure the sisters are informed about all the events going on, whether new community service opportunities or sisterhood events! Feel free to email me with any questions or ideas you have!
Hey everyone! My name is Hale Teke and I am serving as the Treasurer for ESA this year! I am a sophomore majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Arabic as well as Chinese. I am so excited to give back to ESA as much as it gave to me and also excited to be working with such an amazing E-Board. I love eating, traveling, trying new things, and adjusting budgets. Although my spare time is limited, I can always make some for anything ESA related, be it business or personal!
Hi! My name is Maya, and I'm a sophomore studying Psychology and Spanish. As Community Service Chair, I get to plan all of our service events throughout the DC area. I love serving with ESA because we're able to make a real impact in the community while also hanging out with friends. My hobbies are reading, yoga, and eating sweets!
Hi! My name is Sarayu Iyer and I am ESA's Philanthropy Chair. I am currently a sophomore at GW, majoring in Economics and minoring in International Affairs. As Philanthropy Chair I am responsible for organizing ESA's events and fundraisers for St. Jude, and ensuring that we do as much as possible to help the kids at St. Jude! I, along with the rest of ESA, sincerely hope you join us in the fight to end pediatric cancers.
I'm Katie Shah and this years Sisterhood Chair. I am a junior studying international affairs and just got back from studying abroad in Ecuador. I found some of my first and best college friends through ESA and I hope to create fun opportunities for all sisters to create the same lifelong friendships. Please feel free to reach out to me anytime with event ideas. I am looking forward to spending the year hanging out with you ladies.
Hey everyone! My name is Teni Balogun and I'm currently a sophomore studying Biological Anthropology and Public Health. I'm so excited to be serving as the Public Relations chair this year. Through social media, I will be able to further showcase all the amazingness that is ESA and this year I hope increase our recognition on campus & in the DC area. Let me know if you have any feedback, suggestions, or would like to join me on my self-created DC food & street art adventure!
Hi everyone! My name is Alyssa and I'm a senior double majoring in American Studies and Communication. As Parliamentarian, I am in charge of running Standards Board and chapter elections. Part of my job is making sure that all sisters understand and meet requirements set in the constitution, so if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask! In my not-so-free time I procrastinate by watching sad indie movies where nothing happens and dreaming of my next vacation.
What’s up guys! My name is Spencer Strauss and I'm a sophomore majoring in Graphic Design. I’m excited to be ESA’s Historian for this year. As Historian, I’m in charge of updating and designing the website, keeping in touch with our amazing alumni, and documenting fun ESA activities. If I’m not in class or checking snapchat, I’m probably exploring DC with friends and taking photos along the way. If you guys have any ideas, questions, or just want to say hi, feel free to get in contact with me!
Hey everyone! My name is Julia Mancini and I am a sophomore majoring in Psychology and Criminal Justice. My hobbies include watching cute dog videos and eating ice cream.
