About the Delta Zeta Chapter: Epsilon Sigma Alpha is an Alternative Greek Organization and the only community service sorority at The George Washington University in Washington, DC. Our motto is "Sisterhood Through Service" and we strive to fulfill this ideal put forth by our founders. Since the establishment of the Delta Zeta chapter in 2003, ESA at GW has grown to be a group of almost 100 girls.
About Epsilon Sigma Alpha International: Epsilon Sigma Alpha International is a leadership and service organization bringing good people together to pursue programs and projects that make a positive difference locally, nationally, and internationally. Epsilon Sigma Alpha, freely translated from Greek, means 'Pursuit of Learning' and many members say that "ESA" stands for Education, Service, and Association.
ESA was founded in 1929 in response to World War I and women's new involvement in professional careers.
Since then, ESA members have used the network of more than 1,000 chapters to excel in community education, service, and philanthropy. Our hands-on endeavors provide more than 650,000 direct service hours and over $10 million for charitable causes each year.
