Letter from the Rush Chair
Epsilon Sigma Alpha
GW's Service and Leadership Sorority
Spring Rush 2018
My name is Julia and I am this year's Rush Chair! I am an sophomore from California majoring in English. I joined ESA as a freshman and have loved spending the last year and a half doing service all around DC with my amazing sisters!
Epsilon Sigma Alpha is GW's community service and leadership sorority. It is part of the Alternative Greek Community which consists of service and professional sororities and fraternities. We pride ourselves on our motto of cultivating "Sisterhood through Service" with almost 100 current sisters in our Delta Zeta chapter at GW. We work with over 45 different organizations in the DC area, and together we performed over 3,000 hours of community service in the past year.
Every year, we raise money for our philanthropy, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. We successfully raised over $10,000 for St. Jude's this past year, the most of all ESA chapters nationally!
I hope you're as excited about rushing ESA as I was last year! ESA has been a joy for me. It has allowed me to venture into parts of DC outside of Foggy Bottom to help the community with wonderful, like-minded women. My goal is to help you find the same sense of camaraderie and purpose through community service with Epsilon Sigma Alpha.
We have a lot of fantastic activities planned for rush. Through this process, you'll learn about sisterhood, philanthropy, and the service we do; as well as getting to know our lovely sisters.
Love, giraffes, and jonquils,
Rush Chair 2018
